Does anyone "rig" their mainsheet differenly from that shown in the manual and on the Association website? Should the block that you tie the bowine to be at the back of the two blocks? Thanks...
Long time since I've read the manual. But (from memory) mainsheet goes from cleat thru/under hoop(make sense?) and thru the block at the front of the hoop(just to stop it strangling people I think,). Then from front to aft on front block on boom down thru back block on hoop threading front to aft. Up thru aft block on boom from aft to forward, down to aft block becket on hoop and tied off. Clear as mud?
And I think the answer to your question is - yes the back block!
You will get much better response from the mainsheet if you use a thinner better quality rope, and reduce the times you put it through the blocks(purchase)You only need that big long mainsheet in strong winds.
