Condolences to the family concerned. Possibly could happened happened on any boat. A father and his teenage daughter have died after their dinghy capsized during a race at a reservoir.
Victoria Wilkinson, 17, became entangled in the rigging of their boat after it was overturned by a gust of wind.
Her father Geoff, 52, was thrown clear and went back to help his daughter.

But as he frantically fought to free her from the rigging of their Laser Stratos the father-of-three suffered a heart attack.

Tragic accident. I recall another incident where someone died under a capsized Stratos. This sounds like it was an organized race and the safety boat took 10 mins to get there???

I don't think the rigging and wires on the Stratos are much different to many other boats. Do they have a tendency to invert? I have a c/b version and have had it flat on the water but recovered... never fully capsized except for practice. I can turtle the RS500 easily though :(

RIP fellow sailors.

PS it is not the Lake District
