Below is a recent experience I had getting a Stratos C/B cover made. Would be worth anyone checking this before ordering a standard Stratos cover.
Purchased number 852 in the spring with a tatty original cover. Ordered a new flat top PVC cover with a closed in hoop 'T cosy' from Banks Cover did not fit at the front. After a 'site meeting' with David Banks, who made a lot of covers for Laser, it became clear that some Stratos's are longer than others. Specifically, the transom/gunwhale area points aft on mine but points forward on most. See photos of mine and an earlier boat at the same club. It is a few inches, but enough to pull the whole cover back so that it will not close at the front. According to David, Laser became aware of this at the time and took a saw to some of their new boats to get the standard covers to fit! It is the boats made around 05/06 and sail numbers around 800 that are affected. As I could not face taking a saw to mine, David modified the transom of the standard cover and now it fits fine. I can recommend Banks sails for the quality of the cover and their excellent customer service.
