Hi all, This is my first post and having owned the Stratos CB for over 7 months I've a few questions. From this good place I've already learnt some valuable pointers, the recommendation of the Honda 2.3 hp outboard being one. We've tried it heading into 15mph winds once and it managed fine. the steering was very fidgety but a further suggestion has been to raise the CB some so we shall try that again sometime.
My being 11 stone after a capsize , my good lady is an 8 an stone lass, has disadvantages regarding righting the beast in a significant breeze. With a mast float to delay inversion she will, with effort, start to rise. It is difficult and can easily be blown flat again due to windage on the hull. I've tried turning her bow into wind from the topside but she just will not turn, due to the extra weight now in the lower ballast tank is my guess. This w/e myself and mate (similar weight to me) practiced and did alright but the breeze was light. Any pointers here would be fantastic as I hope to sail in locations where there won't be safety cover.
At our club the slipways can be steep. Has anyone experience of caravan movers? I wonder if they have the torque and charge duration to pull the stratos 200 yards to the berth.
Thanks in anticipation Martin.
