I recently bought a new Stratos with the Trapeze kit and in short I think something is missing. Laser themselves didn't seem to know the answer and thought a part was missing which they said they would send but haven't.
There is nowhere for the shock cord for the trapeze to go. No fittings, eyelets, clips or anything else even close. Consequently I can't use it. There is a Stratos next to me with a trapeze in the dinghy park but I haven't yet seen it with its' cover off. Any ideas anyone? The comprehensive rigging instructions tell me to 'fit the trapeze before stepping the mast'. Not a great help.
There should be four plastic eyelights screwed into the hull, one immediately behind and below the thwart (one each side) and one in each corner under the thwart. This allows the shockcord to come from one trapeze hoop (tied on just below the pulley), down to the cockpit, under the thwart and across the cockpit,(passing under the spinnaker rigging), back under the thwart and up to the opposite trapeze hoop. Mine were fitted when the boat was delivered so I don't know whether or not they form part of the 'kit'. Laser should be able to E mail you a JPEG image. If they cannot, get back to me and I will send one. Regards Dave Wilson (133)
Dave Thanks for the very valuable information. That all makes perfect sense to me. All I need do now is get hold of the parts, buy a cordless drill and worry about drilling holes in my boat! Thanks
