I have now been out sailing with my new Stratos twice and it's been just great. Anyway some of you may have read my previous posts about how I was going to get it in and out of the water. It is working just about OK winching up my roller system. I have just one worry - anyone know if the loop which is bolted on the bow of the boat is rated to take the boat's weight, even out of the water? It just seems rather small and I don't know how deep the bolts go. I guess the main purpose is for a painter for use in the water.
One other question for now - can anyone recommend a good book on dinghy sailing techniques which is well suited to the Stratos? I've got the basics down quite well, but when it comes to more advanced stuff like details of sail trim (cunningham etc), and how to use a gennaker, I could really do with a good information source.
Congrats! The loop bolted to the bow should be ok for this. The bolts go all the way through the boat and you can see the nuts and backing plate if you move aside the gennaker sock.
many apologies I never thanked you for your useful replies! I never realised there were replies - I thought I had subscribed to the thread to get email notification (although I hadn't actually), so when I never got an email, I thought there were no replies.
Anyway see my other post for more info on the bolt issue.
