Does anyone else keep twisting their halyard round the jib when furling the jib after setting the gennicker. Is the only solution to move the temp. forestay back to the mast after raising the jib. Does this solve the problem?
Since first sailing the boat I have always moved the forestay to the base of the mast, avoids the problem completely. In addition - when furling the jib with the gennaker down, be sure to keep some tension on the gennaker halyard to avoid that becoming twisted in the jib.
Hi, We have also experienced this forestay problem, and have fitted a small carrabena (spelling I know?). This ensures little time is waisted when rigging the boat.
