I've had a lot of fun on the stratos since I bought her in May. The rigging manual suggests keeping the centreboard down for all points of sail. But I'm finding she moves better offwind with a bit less centreboard and downwind with very little centreboard down. Do any of you have particular settings?
I certainly notice that it's all too easy to capsize when gybing with the centreboard down in anything over 15knots, and over 20knots the centreboard definitely has to be up or it's a sure swim. Anybody got gybing advice, particularly when there's a reasonable wind blowing?
Yes it can be a problem........we have found that the Stratos is far harder to gybe in winds than our ISO unless you are travelling quickly and not slowing down (and the pilot gets it right of course). We have always had the board down but are now experimenting with it raised slightly to stop us broaching and that seems to help so far......
