Posted - 27 Sep 2011 : 14:35:05 I've now ordered one along with an Honda 2.3 after losing my main halyard and having to call out a rib to haul us back in. Wind was straigh offshore, couldn't get anywhere with Jib alone and was choppy enough I did'nt fancy stepping the mast to recover halyard.
Anyone know if bracket is supplied with bolts?
Also, off topic, anyone know the spec for the aft reefing line? |

Posted - 06 Aug 2011 : 19:21:54 An alternative - I just got some hardwood made a h transom sized bracket 6" wide. A vertical length run from the bottom rear lip outside the boat left of the rudder and a couple inches proud of the transom. The second piece bolts horizontally to it and lays on the transom. The third bit drops down the inside of the boat. It's all glued on with b&q water proof glue no holes. I mount a short shaft electric out boat. I use a square invalid carrige sealed battery which sits neatly between the cleats on the center console. Althought the small battery limits use in a capsize it says put with bungies. I use the rudder half up to stop the prop bade fouling it. |

Posted - 02 Aug 2011 : 16:38:30 It is 77774 Optional extra. http://www.sailboats.co.uk/Catalogue~Laser_Stratos_Engine_Bracket_Kit~p_77774~c5468.html
At £145 it is a lot of money for some pieces of Wood!! Really we ought to have a drawing of this part as I'm sure that anybody with basic wood working skills and tools could knock one up for a lot less. |
