To all that took part in the Laser Stratos Open, thank you for travelling all the way to the south coast and making it a huge success, with some memorable sailing and a few spills along the way.

Fantastic to see such a mix of crews and families on the water enjoying the ample breeze!

Bouncing around in a rib, with 20 knots of breeze is not really conducive to steady photography, but here's a link to the ones that weren't too blurred. Link to the video will follow soon.

Photos of the Stratos Open and Training Event WSC 2011 Feel free to add comments to the photos.

Special thanks to Sandy Carter (WYC) and Vicky Biggs (WSC) for organising us and to Jason Wild for providing a great session on Saturday... And to Jon and Linda Spencer and crew, aboard their yacht Albertine, our committee boat for the day. John Lythgoe and Simon the Bosun, with Martin and Adam Kay provided us with reassuring safety cover, Thank you! And to Grace and her team, thanks so much for catering for us and a providing a superb meal on Saturday evening.

Laser Performance provided prizes which will be given at the next event. Thank you for your support.

Look forward to seeing you next year - and good luck to all those attending the Nationals at Whitstable, which promises to be a great family weekend.

All the best

David Swift

Looks good! It's all about getting forward in the boat, with your knees pointing forward, so you can steer behind your back, before you change hands!

We've put some training videos on-line at http://www.youtube.com/warsashtraining#g/u
Take a look at the Land-drills.

Also, I've finally put the video from Day-1, on Youtube. here's the link. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Warsash-Sailing-Club/148658371852274

I have now looked through my photos and the following sequence might be useful. David Swift is demonstrating tacking technique. Step through the five photos and feel free to add comments. Dave, if you want me to change anything or take these photos down let me know.
