We are considering a Stratos Keel to replace our Drascombe Lugger.
Plan is to store at home and tow to the Lake District and to a local sailing club.
The photos I have seen of Stratos' on trailers show a mast support at the front of the trailer, with the mast pointing upwards and over the top of the towing vehicle.

Is this the only way of transporting the mast and does anyone tow with a Discovery 3? Looking at the photos I am not convinced the mast will clear the roof of the Disco!

I have contacted laser Sailing but thought I would ask on the forum as there is lots of information and support here which is great for someone thinking of buying a Stratos.

Thanks

Thanks sboot. That is good news.
Understand what you are saying about extending the mast support.

I have just bought and trailed a Stratos behind my Discovery 2 which is even taller than the Discovery 3. We did have to raise the mast support a bit, which was easily done by taking it out and then inserting a six inch length of wooden broom handle or dowel into the metal box section and then reinserting the mast support. The mast support should be secured with a bolt which is missing for me at the moment, but another option may be to drill a hole in one side of the mast support so that the bolt passes through it and holds the support in a raised position. Hope this makes sense. If not let me know and perhaps I can provide foem diagrams.
