Re Boat Cover...

Having got bored with polishing fading gelcoat every summer, my mate Phil Bull at RainAndSun.co.uk and I came up with a much deeper design boat-cover that covers the sides and coloured gelcoat, as well as covering the hoop properly.

Anyway, Phil just informed me that he's supplied another one of the same design, to a Stratos owner. So perhaps this will prove to be a popular design. Anyone interested in checking it out... See you at Whitstable at the weekend.

I have just taken a a version of this pvc cover earlier this year and I believe Rain and Sun do a poly cotton version if required.

Time to replace my 6+yr old cover. Has anyone any experience of these: http://www.sailregister.co.uk/individual.php?class=Laser%20Stratos

I like the poly-cotton breathable covers rather than pvc and look similar to the excellent cover on our RS500.

Yes, you can specify which design you want, but I dont tow the boat very often, so asked for the cover to go over the 'hoop'.

I tow mine with the mast laid over the transom, with padding under it, which works fine.

Hi All i have just taken delivery of one of these covers from Rain and Sun and its exelent only one thing to bear in mind keep your old cover for towing as with the new cover the mast will not go through the hoop, apart from that the boat is better protected than with the original laser cover.

Sure, here's a few of the rainandsun.co.uk cover . Hope you get the general idea from these. The fabric is pvc and fairly pliable.

David,

I'll be needing a new cover before next winter comes along. Could you post a few photographs of the cover on the boat?

Thanks.
