My boat has some small surface damage on the keel in a few places where maybe the boat grounded. I'm surprise the keel doesnt have a protection strip along it's length. Can a rubber strip be glued on retrospectively?

Found what I want but it's expensive Keelshield £115 for a 6ft lenth by 5". Longer lenght available but they cost more. 6ft should cover the bit afer the centerboard slot where most of my damage is not on the bow where you'd expect it.
