Posted - 23 Oct 2006 : 21:22:33 I recently bent a mast as a result of an inversion. Firstly may I just thank Noble Marine for their prompt, no-nonsense response. I had my new claim apoproved by return after filingf an on-line claim and ikt was delivered within a week. I want to make fellow owners aware of a potential hitch if reolacing an older black mast witha new silver one (which is the new standard). Laser have changed the reefing system and the new system is an in-boom type. The outcome is that if you buy a new mast, it no longer has the reefing saddles on ait all take place inside the (new) boom. I only replaced the mast so I'm going to have to make some modifications.
Rob Cunningham at Laser was most helpful in explaining this and it's simple to do. If I'd known beforehand though I might have forked out the extra and replaced my boom as well and had them delivered together. Not a problem, just pointing it out.
