Laser Stratos - Sail 176 - I've put it on ebay today with a £3k start price. See ebay for photos.
Sailed (rarely) at Whitstable by myself with the family for the last 3 years, previously owed by another club member who brought it from a reservoir sailing school.
A great boat able to accommodate 4 adults cruising, to be able to be with children when they are learning how to sail using trapeze and teamwork and have fun. We didn't really get into racing her but on the couple of occasions we did even with 2 adults and the two children (10 and 13) she went well.
Hull
Hull is excellent for the year with no external dents or repairs. Internal areas are also very good with all fixing points very sound, there are a couple of minor rubs and 1 small repair (surface damage under 50mm and not affecting integrity) on the corner of the starboard 'seat'.
The outer rail of the hull had been fitted with a 'bump guard' at some point which has been removed and the fixing holes professionally filled when we had the hull refurbished by the local boat builder in 2009.
Sails
Mainsail - is original and includes a head with floatation pad. It is in good condition with no repairs.
Jib - is original. It is in good condition with no repairs.
Gennaker - Looks like new.
The sails have their original sail bags.
Rigging
All blocks and runners are in very good condition.
All cable shrouds are in good condition.
The mainsail up haul rope (not the cable) could do with replacing at some point.
The rudder is in good condition with typical wear marks but can be hard to remove.
The centreboard is in good condition with typical wear marks.
The shute bag for the Gennaker will need replacing - it's torn at the top.
The Gennaker pole is in good condition.
Cover
The cover is in reasonable/poor condition. It works and we had a few of the straps repaired in 2009 but it needs more work done.
Trailer
This sale includes the beach trailer shown it is in good condition with new inner tubes in the tires fitted last year. There is no road trailer.
Current Storage / Location
The boat is parked near the beach at Whitstable, Kent, from where it will have to be collected.
I have tried to give as comprehensive a description as possible as attaching pictures is a problem due to file size it seems, any queries please post and I'll reply.
